Billie Reed Unrein of Aurora, Colorado; formerly of Baird passed away January 16, 2023, at the age of 90.
Born February 17, 1932 in Littlefield, Texas to William Pleasant and Iva Elizabeth Barr Reed, she attended Temple High School in Temple, Texas. Her work included being an Airline Stewardess, Model, Secretary, Homemaker, Accountant, Retail, and Senior Citizen Center Director. Her hobbies included Bridge, being an avid reader, bible study, quilting, and gardening.
Billie found joy when helping others in need. Her charitable acts and good works have touched many. Her other joy was teaching Sunday School at the Baird First Baptist Church. Her Sunday school lessons were a labor of love.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, William Reed and two sisters, Betty Kelley and Dale Lonergan.
Survivors include daughters Victoria Dugan and husband John of San Jose, California; Suzan Alter of Aurora, Colorado; Son Scott Unrein and wife Deb of Golden, Colorado; five grandchildren; Miranda Francis (Michael), Isaac Alter, Asher Alter, Ian Unrein, and Jules Unrein; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Darlene Houston of Clyde, Margaret Bogie of Aurora, Colorado and Elizabeth Roberts of Harlan, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 4, 2023 at Clyde Cemetery with Pastor David Acevedo officiating. Refreshments will follow at Baird First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
