Gloria Ann Mendez

Gloria Ann Mendez went to be with her Savior on Monday, September 28, 2020, at the age of 63.

Gloria was born June 18, 1957 in Baird, Texas to Andre and Manuela Silva Mendez.  She attended Baird High School, graduating in 1977.

She worked as a cafeteria employee at Baird ISD for over 20 years, and at multiple church nurseries over the course of her lifetime. She was a longtime leader for the Baird Girl Scouts of America. Gloria loved shopping for her nieces and nephews. She loved her Baird Bears and her job at Baird ISD. Sports were close to her heart, especially her Dallas Cowboys.

Gloria was preceded in death by her mother and father, and brother-in-law Ronnie Holden.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Mendez and wife Renee of Baird; brother Fabian Mendez and Vicky White of Baird; sister Tina Holden of Baird; sister Anita Brown and husband Mark of Baird; sister Ester Mendez of Baird; nieces and nephews DeSerae Villafane of Killeen; Justin Rivera of Abilene; Dustin Rivera of Baird; Raven and Zachary Watts of Abilene; and Andrea Brown of Baird.  She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, who she absolutely loved.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 1, 2020, at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. 3rd Street in Baird.  Rosary will be 6:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2020 at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 3, 2020 at St. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church, North 1st and Cherry in Clyde.  Burial will be in Ross Cemetery Annex.

Pallbearers will be Justin Rivera, Dustin Rivera, Zachary Watts, A.J. Mendez, Hector Aguirre and Jay Carrillo.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Mendez and Fabian Mendez.

Those attending are reminded of social distancing guidelines and will be required to wear masks.
