Larry D. Jobe of Baird went to be with the Lord Monday, September 12, 2022, at the age of 71.
Born in Baird August 10, 1951 to Foy W. And Bobbie E. (Brandon) Jobe, Larry graduated from Putnam High School in 1970. He joined the United States Navy in 1970, obtaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a Hospital Corpsman, serving as an X-Ray Technician. While serving in the Navy, he received an Associates Degree from George Washington University. He married Lori A. Roukema June 26, 1981 in Pensacola, Florida.
Upon retiring from the Navy in 1990, He served as an Instructor for the Hendrick Medical Center School of Radiology until 2014. He then worked part-time driving vehicles for Penske and Lawrence Hall. He was a member of Rowden Baptist Church.
Larry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to travel with his wife, Lori, and dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Foy; grandparents Charles and Eva Brandon and Earl and Bessie Jobe; and infant daughter, Melissa Jobe.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Lori Jobe; mother, Bobbie E. (Brandon) Jobe; son, Michael “Shane” Jobe (Chastity) and daughter, Rachele Ayn Jobe; grandchildren Bryson Taven Pettyjohn (Jaisa), Caitlin Renee Pettyjohn (Joseph), and Michael “Ryan” Jobe (Danielle); a sister, Cara Lynn Kemmitz (Richard); two brothers, William Charles “Billy” Jobe (Debra) and James “Darrell” Jobe (Carla); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. 3rd Street in Baird. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2022, at Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 West Lake Road in Abilene, with Wayne Lenz of Rowden Baptist Church officiating.
