Floyd Lewis Clemmer, 66, died April 29, 2022 at his home in Abilene.
Lewis was born September 26, 1955 in Abilene to Floyd E. and Joe Ann Clemmer. He graduated from Abilene High in 1973, where he was active in baseball, football and track. He was the starting center and defensive end for the Warbirds his junior and senior year. He graduated from Cisco Jr. College, class of 1976, with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. While attending college, he was on the rodeo team as a calf roper. Lewis had several employers, G&G as a welder, with his dad in the cattle business, and Abilene Cattle Auction, where he was involved in the Roundup for Rehab. Lewis helped care for his mom until her death in 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his daughter, Christy Joe Clemmer of Baird; one brother, Robert and wife Yvonne Clemmer of Waco; and a sister, Nancy Hall of Oklahoma.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. 3rd Street in Baird.
