Linda Faye Pickens passed away Friday, February 6, 2026, at the age of 82.
Linda was born on February 25, 1943, in Abilene to Granvel Cheairs and Alma Maedell Cheairs.
She graduated from Wylie High School and worked at Furrs Cafeteria and Lawrence Brothers. She later retired from both.
Linda loved reading, sudoku puzzles, shopping and jigsaw puzzles. She had an attitude that was passed onto some of her grandkids and great grandkids.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Granvel and Alma Cheairs; brother Granvel Carrol Cheairs and son in law Brian McConnell
She is survived by her sons Eddie Pickens and wife Cristina of Arraijan, Panama, Mike Pickens and wife Dela of Baird, Gary Pickens and wife Dora of Abilene; daughter Paula McConnell of Baird; brother Dale Edgar Cheairs of Combine, Texas; along with 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home with the Burial at 2:00 PM at Iberis Cemetery in Abilene.
