Norman Franklin "Frank" Smith Obituary

Norman Franklin "Frank" Smith, Jr., passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Hendrick Hospice Care Center at the age of 75. 

Frank was born November 10, 1946 in Phoenix, Arizona, to Norman Franklin and Betty Jane Allen Smith.  He joined the United States Army January 31, 1964, and served until October 3, 1969. His assignments included TRP A 3rd Squadron 12th Cavalry Division, 32nd Armor Division, He was honorably discharged in 1969.  Frank was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars from January of 1971 until his passing.

Frank married Nimfa L. Chinel February 6, 2012, and the couple made their home in Baird. 

He is survived by his wife, Nimfa, daughters Agatha Jane C. Smith and Arian Jade C. Smith, son Alvin L. Chinel; niece Christina Klapper, nephew Kenny Gorham, and grand nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. 3rd Street in Baird, with Rosary following at 6:00 PM.  Funeral mass will be 10:00 AM Monday, May 23, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 837 Jeanette in Abilene.  Burial will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery of Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road, Abilene.
